About Us

 

After retiring as a tenured Associate Professor with a combined 34+ years of experience in K-12 and Higher Education, specializing in classroom teaching, teacher training and preparation, classroom and program assessment, and evaluation, Dr. Williams decided to respond to the recognized need for effective, responsive, quality mathematics tutoring and professional development programs.  

 

She envisions Open Book Learning Center, Inc. (OBLC) as a conduit through which her years of highly skilled experience and practice can support and influence positive changes in the teaching and learning of mathematics.

 

Before starting Open Book Learning Center, Inc., Dr. Williams taught mathematics, mathematics education, assessment, and measurement courses at the K-12, college, and university levels. In addition to her teaching experience, she has written curriculum, conducted workshops and training, presented at conferences and meetings, and worked on research targeting the needs of K-14 learners. 

 

Dr. Williams holds a B.A. in Computer Informational Systems from the University of Miami, an M.S. in Mathematics Education from Nova Southeastern University, an Ed.S. in Mathematics Education from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in Curriculum Evaluation and Research with an emphasis in Mathematics Education from Barry University.
