Mathematics

Our approach to the teaching and learning of mathematics utilizes sensemaking, deepening conceptualization, and improving procedural fluency. Learners will spend time honing their procedural skills and fluency while exploring and attacking challenging problems that pique their interest. Opportunities to explore, analyze, and apply mathematics that highlights rich connections to science, technology, and engineering are our focus. Curriculum integration and real-world applications are used to enrich and demonstrate the presence of mathematics in much of what we do.

 

Tutoring plans are tailored to the individual student’s needs. Goals that accelerate, remediate, or use a hybrid of both can be pursued. Parents and tutees have a voice in the planning of the tutee’s goals. In fact, their input is instrumental to achieving success.
